Hawk Talk and Trivia Night: Dolly Parton's Legacy of Love
Laurier Brantford launches a café-style lecture series with a talk on what Dolly Parton teaches us about compassion, followed by pop culture trivia.
Enjoy free snacks, meet your neighbours and settle in for an evening of big ideas and friendly competition. Wilfrid Laurier University's Brantford campus is launching Hawk Talk and Trivia Night, a new lecture series bringing stimulating conversation into a relaxed, café-style setting.
The series opens with "Dolly's Legacy of Love," a talk by Laurier psychology professor Judy Eaton on what Dolly Parton's life, work and lyrics can teach us about authenticity, compassion and human connection. Eaton's research on apologies, forgiveness and well-being has been featured in Time, Esquire and CBC News, and she'll make the case that Parton's optimism has never been more relevant.
Stick around after the talk for a pop culture trivia challenge, with prizes up for grabs. Everyone is welcome, no Laurier connection required. Complimentary snacks and a cash bar available. Space is limited, so register in advance.
